Katie is walking 370 miles for British Lung Foundation!
Katie Line, the Chief Financial Officer of Helicentre Aviation, is raising money for a charity that is close to her heart. On the 1st October 2021, it marks the 10 year anniversary of the passing of Katie’s father, Alfie Flear, after losing him to COPD.
Katie was 37 years old when he died, which is why she is completing this challenge over a course of 37 consecutive days. She is already partway through the challenge and expressed how exhausting it has made her but she is very determined and keeps persevering.
Katie’s dog Bailey occasionally keeps her company on some of her shorter walks whilst Katie uses the time walking to reflect on the good memories she has of her dad, keeping his memory alive.
The clothing brand, SweatyBetty, which specialises in activewear, has decided to team up with Katie and help promote her cause by offering her an outfit to train in. They have also given her a gift which she is going to raffle to anyone who donates to the British Lung Foundation via her JustGiving page that is linked at the bottom of the page.
