Helicopter Pilot Career Seminar
Join our free Helicopter Pilot Career Seminar and find out how you could be starting a brand new and exciting career as a helicopter pilot!
The seminar is delivered by Captain Sarah Bowen, Head of Training and experienced Helicopter Flight Instructor Examiner. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the seminar is delivered live over Zoom and lasts for approximately three hours. It provides a step-by-step guide to obtaining your professional helicopter pilot’s licence – CPL(H), explaining the various training routes from student pilot to industry professional.
Subject to availability we may have a guest speaker joining us on the day. Due to the nature of helicopter operations, this is often not confirmed until the last minute; previously our guest speakers have included Chief Pilot (UK Oil and Gas) from industry partner Bristow Helicopters, pilots from National Police Air Services (NPAS), Crew Training Captain from CHC, and pilots from SAR and HEMS roles.
The majority of our graduates started their careers by attending a seminar just like this and many are now flying HEMS (Air Ambulance), Police, Offshore (Oil and Gas), Utility and countless other exciting roles all over the world. Topics covered include pilot selection, training, scholarships, funding, and employment opportunities. The BSc (Hons) Professional Aviation Pilot Practice, a degree course delivered jointly with Middlesex University is also covered in the presentation.
Those attending the seminar will be given a voucher towards a subsidised pilot selection day which includes all the required assessments and two hours of flight training at the controls in a Cabri G2 helicopter, should you wish to give flying a go and find out if a helicopter pilot career could be for you.
Whether you’re already on your way to becoming a commercial pilot, or you’re completely new to aviation, our Career Seminar is the best way to find out more about the helicopter industry and the career pathways available once qualified.
