New Membership Scheme at Leicester from July

Dear Helicentre Customer,

Thank you for all your support at the launch weekend. It was good to see so many people and we hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did. As you may be aware, all training flights conducted at Leicester from January had a set landing fee of £5 + VAT per flight and no circuits or additional landings were charged.

As discussed with everyone at the time this was only going to be a temporary measure until everything was finalised with Leicestershire Aeroclub. We can now inform you that from 1st July 2010 we will be introducing a club membership scheme.

A membership scheme has been in place at the Aeroclub for many years, giving the club member unlimited landings, circuits, use of the airfield training areas, as well as the Aeroclub bar and restaurant.

In addition the membership scheme will have great benefits for Helicentre customers, for example the membership will cover all helicopter types flown (at Coventry the charges for larger helicopters were as much as £25 per circuit, which soon mounts up - with the membership scheme at Leicester everything is included and you can do as many circuits as you like on any type of helicopter! Even for an R22 the average spend on landings over a PPL course at Coventry was in excess of £1,000!).

Although the annual membership is by far the best value for money, and offers huge savings across the year on landing fees alone, we realise that some of our customers only book in for intensive courses and others for occasional self-fly-hire, and therefore may only wish to take advantage of our membership on a temporary basis. To cater for everyones requirements there are three ways you can choose to pay your membership fees.

The monthly and daily membership fees cover all airfield charges (unlimited landings and circuits, use of the helicopter training areas) and use of the Helicentre facilities, with tea and coffee, pilot self-briefing services, planning rooms and free WIFI. You will also be invited to take part in Helicentre’s special events and BBQs, as well as being able to come along on our helicopter trips, outings, and enter our competitions. You will also be able given priority and low-cost rates on positioning flights.

These are the membership fees :


Annual Membership : £350 + VAT

Monthly Membership : £65 + VAT

Daily Membership : £25 + VAT
