On the beautiful morning of 14th June two Robinson R22s and their crews departed Coventry Airport bound for Ireland.
The flight routing took them past the Malverns, followed by some of the Welsh hills with views of amazing lakes and secluded valleys.
Following a fuel stop at Haverford West (and donning of the survival gear!) they crossed the Irish Sea and landed at Waterford where they were met by a Coast Guard Helicopter and a few nice Irish folks.
Time to get out of the immersion suits and stop for a brew!

After a bite to eat they set off for Cork and followed the beautiful South Coast round towards Kinsale where they would be spending the night. The scenery was stunning and the people really friendly, and after a short taxi ride to Kinsale the four pilots walked along the harbour and looked for a nice restaurant to sample the local cuisine.
The next day was looking showery but by the time everyone arrived at Cork airport things were looking up and the sun was shining. The two helicopters departed to head up the West Coast and check out the stunning Castle Gregory peninsula.
After a day of stunning views, sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters they returned to Kinsale where they retired for the night at the beautiful Carlton Hotel which has its own helipads and a superb view over the harbour.
