A licence proficiency check (LPC) must be taken annually in order to maintain currency of your helicopter type rating. At Helicentre Aviation we have both internal and external CAA authorised examiners, and can provide you with a revalidation up to 3 months prior to LPC expiry date, or renewal of the following type ratings:
Robinson R22
Robinson R44
Bell 206 / 206L
Schweizer 300 / Hughes
Eurocopter EC120
The requirement for revalidation (provided the rating is current) is to have flown two hours in the previous 12 months (including the LPC which typically lasts around 40 minutes). If the rating has lapsed then two hours must have been completed in the previous 12 months before the LPC can be taken. If you haven't managed to log the full two hours, then one of our instructors will be pleased to fly with you and complete some pre-LPC training.
We are available to conduct LPC's seven days a week and for type ratings which have expired by more than five years, we can arrange a course of training (minimum of two hours) to bring you up to the standard required to pass the LPC. In this case the type exam (multiple choice) must also be taken. To discuss your requirements please do not hesitate to contact us and we will get you booked in.
