Helicentre Aviation's Coventry Airport base is the ideal place to complete the commercial course. The airport is open 24/7 and the night flying, which consists of 5 hours flight training, can all be carried out in-house as part of the 35 hour CPL(H) course. This avoids incurring costly handling charges that other airports may apply in order to stay open at night.
The approved CPL(H) flight course, consists of a minimum of 30 hours dual flight instruction, including 10 hours of simulated instrument instruction.You will also need to pass the CAA CPL(H) skill test, which Helicentre Aviation can arrange for you, and don't forget our team will be on hand to help and guide you every step of the way towards becoming a professional helicopter pilot.
There are some pre-entry requirements before you can commence training on the CPL(H) course:
* You must be aged 18 or over
* You must already hold a current PPL(H)
* You must have completed 155 hours flying time in helicopters, including 50 hours of Pilot in Command, with 10 of these being cross-country
* You must have a current valid pass in all the CPL(H) theoretical knowledge exams
* You must hold a CAA Class 1 medical

If you don't already hold a night rating, you will need to do the 5 hours night flying in addtion to this. At the end of the course you will also need to pass the CAA CPL(H) skill test with a CAA examiner, which Helicentre Aviation can arrange for you.
