This course is designed for a range of pilot abilities, from those who have not held their PPL (H) for very long, to experienced pilots. The aim is to assist you in reaching a greater level of aircraft knowledge and safety awareness.
The course is based on 2 days of ground school conducted by Captain Dick Sanford the UK based Robinson representative. There is also 2 hours of flight training to conduct to complete the course. This will need to be booked in separately soon after the ground school course has finished.
The course curriculum includes a review of past R22 and R44 accidents, their causes and how they could be avoided, helicopter theory, and critical flight conditions. The course also covers the R22 and R44 Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) and Manoeuvre Guide and R22 Flight Training Guide, an in-depth look at the R22 and R44 systems and a review of maintenance and pre-flight procedures, a course review, written examination and critique.
