The European Robinson Safety Course presented by Richard Mornington Sanford, is designed for a range of pilot abilities from student pilots, to those who have just obtained their PPL (H), to experienced pilots and instructors. The aim is to assist you in reaching a greater level of aircraft knowledge and safety awareness.
The course is based on two full days of ground school and two hours of flight training, covering advanced emergencies, which can be flown on the R22 or R44, or a combination of the two. This normally takes place on the third day of the course, once the ground school has been completed.
The course curriculum includes a review of past R22 and R44 accidents, their causes and how they could be avoided, helicopter theory, and critical flight conditions. The course also covers the R22 and R44 Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) and Manoeuvre Guide and R22 Flight Training Guide, an in-depth look at the R22 and R44 systems and a review of maintenance and pre-flight procedures, a course review, written examination and critique.
The cost of the ground school is £375 + VAT and the normal dual training rate applies for the flying, either on the R22 or R44 (or if you prefer, an hour on each). Please call us on 08006 123 211 to book, as places are limited. A deposit of £175 + VAT is required at the time of booking to secure your place on the course.
