Helicopter Treasure Hunt

Calling all helicopter pilots! The Helicentre Aviation Treasure Hunt is a navigation challenge, which is both fun and a excellent test of your flying and navigating skills. If you are hour building and want to do something different, or you just fancy a bit of fun and a challenge, come and join in! Student and instructor combo's are also invited to take part!

Each pilot will need a "navigator" who doesn't necessarily need to hold a PPL(H), but some experience of navigation will obviously help to work out where clues lead to and ease your workload. The flying should take no longer than an hour (provided you don't end up off course!) and the clues will be provided once your team is in the helicopter.

Teams need to register at least three days before the event and aircraft slot times will be allocated on a first come first served basis. You can enter the competition in any type of helicopter you choose to fly, but you need to be rated on the type (or if you are a student you will be accompanied by an instructor).

After the event prizes will be awarded for the team that successfully completes all the clues, or the team that correctly answers the most clues if nobody completes them all. In the case of a tie the team that has flown the course in the closest time to that planned for the aircraft type they are flying will win the prize (time taken from departure from the "H" to arrival back at the "H").

There will be three categories for entrants - PPL(H) entrants, student and instructors, and commercial pilots.
